..Ice.. [Mini-story. :)]

It was freezing. The frost nipped at the doe's hooves, chipping away at her fur and crusting her mask in ice. A shiver escaped the sleeping animal, before her eyes slowly opened. She let out a sigh, watching her warm breath condense into a misty fog afront her face. Slowly, she rose her head, shivering as she did so. A bellow finally escaped her lungs, it's tone unsteady as she shivered in the cold. Her ears perked, but no reply.

Uno managed the stand up, shaking her fur free of the ice-cold sprinkles that had collected atop it. The deer let out another soft bellow, finding comfort that the warm cloud of breath gave her. Once again, no reply. She lowered her head, shaking it back and forth in dissapointment.

As her legs took a step forward to walk, the once graceful doe managed to stumble, tripping over the ice that now blanketed the once soft layer of snow. It crackled beneth her hooves, soon giving way to the icy powder beneath it. There was stillness, and soon she was wondering if shelter was even in sight. Nonetheless, she pulled her hoof free of the trap, and trotted clumsily into the direction of she what thought to be the Great Oak.

It's not admittable that the treck was easy, nor quick. She soon found the icey layer to be a useless act of nature, understanding little on why it came to be so slippery. Why would a human-faced deer know any of the sort? All knowledge was gained by experience, little to be found written down as of yet. She knew nothing of words, of stories, of why ice pleaded with her balance. Uno only knew of dancing, music, and the rythm that came with the one song she always danced to. Even that didn't have a name however, and yet she could recite out the tune with the flick of a hoof.

Questions about Quince/Uno?

Hiya! Okay fine, fine, I gave into the peer pressure+bandwagoness.
Does anyone have any like, question thingies for Quince and Uno?
I chose not to give them a biography, so I was just checking to see if anybody was wonderin' somethin' about them. Cool
Ask away!

*both deer bow in unison*

Dancing Deer Video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BXY4VOv7jI

Just made this video of Quince and Uno...perhaps other people have made video of their deers as well? I want to see them! *is on a youtube spree*
Video Contest entries count? XD;
(I can't enter this one due to the words in the beginning)

I'm sorry but...

Is anyone else getting kinda tired of the only diary entries being "Deer Updates" and "Biographies"? D:

I dunno.
I guess I'm just stirring up some disaster here or somethin'.
It's just like.
I feel as if every other post is a deer update. And seriously, not to sound mean or anything, please don't take it the wrong way, it's just, I'd rather find out what your deer is up to by hopping into the forest, y'know?

Idk.
Ignore this I suppose, just had to let that out. Smiling

.:The Curtain Rises:.

We've just begun our set of performances recently, we're surprised so many joined in on the fun! Our practice for lasted miserably long,
but it seems dancing isn't just a duo of activities!
It's contagious!

Another set of twins? I wonder if they can sing?

We loved this deer who danced with us in the flowers! Who are you?

Eep! A sleeping deer! Sorry friend!

Haha, nevermind. Smiling

Two regular pelt stags! Although one had our mask and some flowers. Smiling

We performed at the crying idol and ruins! What an enjoyable dance party! We're honored! *bows*

Twins of dance

Would you care to frolic with us?

We are two, but one, entwined in a careful pattern of gold and brown, bound to twirl in unison as that of two butterflies near a patch of purple poppies. Do you watch and listen to our song and dance? Stop near and take a seat, watch our dance we've practiced for you. Bow in unison to our audience, rear towards the gods if audience is absent. Left and right we'll twirl, will you watch our practice? Hours perhaps, days maybe. Left and right a careful dance of presicion. We appreciate your presense, indeed.

Twins of dance, worshipping the twin gods, we dance and they will watch. Music for the occasion, we make ourselves. Bellow out to the forest, notice the reactions we create.

Twins of dance....

Twins of dance!

Quince and Uno

-------------
These are two new deer I've created, they're both twin does. They enjoy dancing...and long walks on the beach? XD Lol. Hopefully they will meet everyone in the forest soon!

Ignore this poem.

Ignore that aging deer,
Who's gate is slow and easy,
Who's mind is stuttered and dying,
Who's antlers break his neck and tear his muscles,
As he walks by enjoying the sun.

Ignore that foolish fawn,
Who's judged on how fast she can run,
Who's following the older ones to learn,
Who's giggling while she dances,
As she skips by enjoying the world.

Ignore that silly doe,
Who's counted life by the number of friends gained,
Who's cradled ev'ry fawn trotting near,
Who's lept at every step she takes,
As she bounds by enjoying the view.

Ignore that benevolent stag,
Who's jumped at every suggested battle,
Who's searched for a doe to protect forever,
Who's hooves thunder across the forest,
As he sprints by enjoying his strength.

But be sure to observe the nameless deer,
Who watch others slowly and carefully,
Who are quick to join the dance of the fawns,
Who are flustered by the kindness of a passing doe,
Who laugh and prance with the powerful stags,
...and who hope to join the ranks of an Endless Forest.

So which deer are you? ;D

Memories of Old (Screenshots)

I recently found some old screenshots from about a year ago sitting in the folder. It kinda made me happy and sad at the same time.
I was a deer called "Yumi" back then, and we didn't even have this fancy blog diary post thing with pictures. Is it the support form now?
*shrug*
Either way, please enjoy!
(My deer's the one with the goldish pelt, doe antlers, and goldish mask! (For lack of a better name!)

(Wasn't this somebody's diary back in the day?)

I miss those days. Smiling
