Well we're back from our weekend trip and I'm finally getting caught up with things enough to have a little time for my Forest again. <3
The Ren fest was amazingly fun! So much so that we are going to go back the first weekend of August for the final weekend. They have it themed like Mardi-gras and it sounds like it's going to be an absolute blast! ((And it gives me an excuse to start trying to make those masks I've been contemplating for so long..... pictures to come soon, I hope.. < >.< > ))
Our drive up there was rather interesting as well... we got a seriously late start when while getting an oil change done the mechanic discovered the oil pan plug had stripped some of the pan grooves off and we spent two hours getting it fixed - thankfully that did NOT involve having the oil pan replaced. < .______.' >
Then we drove through two storms, one of which was dropping tornadoes and hail - we had to time our stops just right to avoid the worst parts of the storm as they were scraping their way across the interstate. My daughter can now say she has seen wall clouds trying to make a few tornadoes, though they weren't really successful while we were in view.
The second storm we stopped for a few pictures of as it rolled towards us because it was so absolutely amazingly strange and beautiful...
The festival was so much fun though and we stayed all day for both days. I ended up seriously sunburned after the first day since my sunblock decided to give out on me, so I'm now healing the blisters on my shoulders. < T-T > ouch...
A few pictures for those who really care to see them. <3 |
